H.78,5 cm W. 62,5 cm Document : A detailed letter dated 18 April 1984 (Rome) from Didier Bodart, Doctor in Archaeology and History of Art (Rome), considering that the work belongs to the Flemish artist Pieter de Witte known as Pietro Candido (Brussels around 1548 - Munich 1628) will be given to the purchaser. The author, who detects the influence of Michelangelo in Christ and that of Taddeo and Federico Zuccaro in the guards, states "This work probably belongs to the artist's Italian period, probably to the Tuscan period".
