Concerning the second hand jewels it is reminded that they are sold as is and can thus present more or less pronounced traces of use without that being necessarily notified. Precious and fine stones may have been treated to enhance their value. Example: oiling of emeralds, heat treatment of rubies and sapphires, bleaching of pearls, etc. These treatments are traditional and accepted on the international jewelry market.
Given the increase in new treatments, gemstones without certificates are sold without any guarantee of treatment.
Coralie de Demandolx is at your disposal for any additional information concerning the different types of treatments that exist.
Identification techniques and analysis conclusions concerning the origin and classification of stones and pearls may vary from one laboratory to another. Consequently, it is possible in some cases to obtain a different result depending on the laboratory consulted. No claim will be accepted if another laboratory gives a different opinion and the sales company and the expert will not be held responsible.
The circulation of Burmese rubies and/or jades is now free, in the United States as well as in the European Union.
Concerning lots 56 and 76 in coral: they are specimens in corallium spp (CITES appendix IIB pre convention) not subjected to the French regulation (Regie 338/97 of 09/12/1996 article 2-W mc) this coral not being taken on the French coasts. These specimens are therefore not subject to the prohibition of the French environmental code. They can therefore be marketed in the European Union, because the material is worked in the form of jewelry.
However, if you wish to leave the EU, you will need to obtain a CITES permit for re-export, which will be charged to the future buyer.
