HARPIGNIES, Henri Joseph (1819–1916) La Bourboule, July 30, 1880, Watercolor, slight sun fading 11 x 14 cm (image size) Henri-Joseph Harpignies stayed in La Bourboule during the summer of 1881, hosted by his maternal family, the Lequimes, one of whose members was then mayor of the town. This family scene most likely depicts the artist accompanied by his wife Marguerite and close relatives. We would like to thank Mr. Jean-Pierre Cappoen for the valuable information he provided us.
