MULLER IN IVRY Terracotta gargoyle depicting a dragon’s head, with patinated eyes Stamped on the back: “Muller Ivry” Approx. 41 x 33 x 18.5 cm Minor chips In 1854, Emile Muller founded “La Grande Tuilerie” in Ivry, a factory producing roofing accessories whose operations would later expand to include facade decorations, particularly those made of stoneware or glazed ceramic. Emile Muller died in 1889; his son Louis succeeded him, notably participating in the Chicago World’s Fair; the tile factory continued in operation until 1908.
