In-4, first French edition of a major work on blood circulation, illustrated with a fold-out plate. Translation from English by François Boissier de Sauvages, who added two medical treatises on inflammation and fever. Bound in full contemporary marbled calf, 5-ribbed spine, red morocco title-piece. Handwritten inscription ""Malsherbes"" on the flyleaf. (missing headpieces, some freckling, stains and traces of wetness).
