LANGLAIS (designer) Set of six small white earthenware plates with a polychrome decoration of a shoe; an original inscription on the underside; borders with outlined fillets. Manufacturer’s mark on the underside; signed by the designer and marked, numbered, and dated “Collection V. Guillen Edition CHARLES JOURDAN” 1966 Diameter: 18.5 cm Minor wear to the decoration Accompanied by their box (dented) and a certificate Charles Jourdan is a company specializing in luxury footwear. These plates were produced in 1966 and given as gifts to the company’s clients. Designed by J. Langlais, they are inspired by shoes from the collection of Mr. Victor Guillen, a Parisian designer and patternmaker, whose entire collection is now housed at the Shoe Museum in Romans.
