"A cartoon sweater featuring the effigies of Inspector Clous - Lot 39
"A cartoon sweater featuring the effigies of Inspector Clouseau and the Pink Panther and drawn from Jean-Charles de Castelbajac's collaboration with Iceberg from 1974. Navy and blue wool knit sweater, crew neck, long sleeves, titled Daily Panther, ispector Clouseau Triumph. Woven logo in white satin with black graphics stating "Modèle déposé JC de Castelbajac Made in Italy". Circa 1975-1985. Equivalent size L. Good condition. Here, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac was probably inspired by the story of Blake Edwards' film The Pink Panther, but introduced the animated figure of the panther as found in the film's credits and in several short films. The figure of the Pink Panther has been modified. It is shown in gray. The Pink Panther is a fictional character created by Friz Freleng, who first appeared in 1963 in the opening and closing credits of Blake Edwards' film The Pink Panther. In the story, the "Pink Panther" is the name of a diamond investigated by Parisian detective Jacques Clouseau. However, the film's credits feature her as a pink cartoon feline. Such was her success that the producers, the Mirisch Company and DePatie-Freleng, decided to make the character the protagonist of a series of short films. "Expert: Serge LIAGRE
