Eric Dubrulle (1963-1996) opened his Paris couture house at 5 Avenue Matignon in 1995, and produced only two shows, in July 1995 and January 1996, following his sudden death in a car accident on March 16, 1996. Prior to this, he had worked as first tailor at Jean-Louis Scherrer, before joining Hanae Mori after a trip to Italy to learn about ready-to-wear techniques. Eric Dubrulle was renowned for the quality of his couture designs and finishes. In January 1996, L'Officiel de la couture et de la mode de Paris (issue 802-805) ran the headline: "Une collection épurée pour une élégance parisienne" ("A refined collection for Parisian elegance").
