“Mater Dei,” 1916.
A wooden frame with a quadrangular body, entirely covered in pearl-gray shag velvet, featuring a circular ivory medallion in the center. Finely carved medallion depicting the Virgin and Child set in a polychrome enameled silver mount, decorated with foliage and flowers and featuring two opal cabochons. In its original case marked "Armand-Calliat Fils, silversmith in Lyon."
Signed and titled on the ivory, master and material hallmarks on the setting, and dated June 10, 1916, on a silver plate set at the bottom of the frame.
