CÉLINE, Louis-Ferdinand (1894-1961). Autograph letter signed, written in pencil. [Denmark], "August 26" n.d. 4 pp. in-folio. One small tear.
Danish letter from Céline, feverish and choppy as usual: "You are delightful, dear Madame, it's a fact, your photo proves it, and so do your children in a charming way [...]. I adore you [...]". Céline goes on to talk about exile, Paul Adam (whom he describes as "the master novelist of War"), France and French patriotism, prison, lawyers, his career: "For 4 years, secretary and official missionary of the sanitary organization at the SDN [League of Nations] from 1924 to 28 from North America - South - Russia - from South Africa to the North Pole. I've never come across this glittering country where the [?] Oh! lala! [...] No more ferocious and xenophobic than doctors in any country except France, of course [...]", etc.
