LISZT, Franz (1811-1886). Autograph letter signed and addressed to his "Très illustre ami" [Alphonse de Lamartine?] Weimar, August 15, 1855. 2 pp. in-8 Liszt suggests an appointment for his muse and concubine Carolyne de Sayn-Wittgenstein (1819-1887), then in exile: "Madame la Princesse Carolyne Wittgenstein should spend a few days in Paris, and would very much like to have the honor of making your acquaintance. I dare to rely enough on the kindness of your memory and the kindness you have shown me many times to request a few minutes of your time on her behalf. FOR NINE YEARS I HAVE PUT MY GLORY AND HAPPINESS IN HIS ENTIRE DEVOTION - and I am certain that you will find her worthy of your admiration [...]".
