Imperial Guard officer's sword, model 1860. Chased brass mounting. Pommel with eagle, jointing arch with thunderbolt with the numeral "N" in the center and right quillon with acanthus leaf. Keyboard with large imperial coat of arms and pump counter-keyboard. Blackened horn spindle (watermark missing). Straight triangular blade marked "F.Manchon & A.Mangaud Rue Richelieu 12 Paris. Leather scabbard conforming to regulations (leather missing and damaged). Overall length: 96 cm. France, Second Empire period.
