Naval officer's saber, model 1853. Gilt bronze mounting. Oval cap with interlacing motifs joined to the hilt. Pierced joint arch for the lanyard connecting the openwork plate decorated with a naval anchor. Slightly curved quillon decorated with a dogfish head. Filigreed horn spindle. Slightly curved blade. Steel scabbard with three brass fittings, chased with naval anchor and miscellaneous. Total length: 80 cm. France, second half of the 19th century.
