Bound in full green morocco, 5-ribbed spine. Enriched with a signed autograph letter from the author to Dr. A.J. Powilewicz. This is a unique copy, with an original model produced in ink by Powilewicz in 1925, including a title page decorated with the coat of arms of the city of Aix, 10 original hors-texte drawings, a naval combat in the colophon, a frame and 8 original headpieces and 8 culs-de-lampe. The copy also includes a table of "engravings", a handwritten justification "copy n°1", and an important series of preparatory sketches for the illustration of the work. (spine faded, slipcase rubbed)
