Allegory of Love Porcelain clock with polychrome enamelled decoration of Venus and Love looking after two birds on a cloud underlined by pastillage flowers. The convex-cornered base is embellished with ormolu bas-reliefs featuring palmettes and bouquets of flowers in gilded highlights and gold fillets. Enameled dial with Arabic numerals for hours and quarters, persil hands, winding hole. Apocryphal Sèvres mark. Late 19th century H. 30 - W. 27 - D. 14 cm Floral decoration damaged and missing, Love's wing broken and glued back together, gilding worn.
