Case divided into five fields punched with geometric motifs and hunting scenes with animals; hasp and its pendant with a sea horse head, two threatening sea lions on the lid, handle supports in the shape of a mermaid with a bifid tail, two sea snakes facing each other forming a handle and three sea dog heads on the case body. Arrow and key hallmark AZ ? Background: Lyon mint calibration mark: letter D surmounted by a fleur-de-lys, verification mark dated 1762, crowned IP mark of Jean Pingard (Lyon 1676-1727), the number 16 and XXXII.MARCS. Southern Germany, Nuremberg, attributed to Andreas Ziegengeist (1680-1706), late late 17th/early 18th century Height: 21.2 cm - Diameter: 16.5 cm Total weight: 15.2 kg (restorations, ½ weight missing) A similar weight stack is preserved at the Musée des Beaux-Arts d'Angers, inv. 2003.1.477.
