Saddle carbine. - Lot 7
Saddle carbine.
Flintlock locks converted to percussion. Table-top double barrel, forged with ribbons. Short barrel, cheek stock decorated with a carved lion and scrolls. Engraved and cut-out iron fittings with hunting scenes. A knob allows the stock to be folded to the side, enabling this gun to be placed on a cast-iron saddle. This rifle is signed in gold letters on the locks and barrel bands: ALBERT RENETTE A PARIS.
Interesting early 19th century gun.
Wear and minor restorations, oxidation.
