French school circa 1665-1670, entourage of Joseph WERNER (Bern 1637 - 1710) Portrait of Louis XIV and Marie-Thérèse of Austria with the Grand Dauphin, dressed as ancient divinities Gouache on vellum 19.5 x 22.5 cm. On the back, label with ink inscriptions probably dating probably from the late 17th century: "Portrait de Louis, de Marie-Thérèse d'Autriche, de Louis, surnommé le Grand Painted by Pierre Mignard [...] Premier peintre du Roi en 1640". Related work: - Anonymous French, circa 1670, Louis XIV and Maria Theresa of Austria, King and Queen of France, with their son the Grand Dauphin, gouache on vellum vellum, 19.3 x 22.5 cm, Rennes, Musée des Beaux-Arts, inv. NV1876-33-1.
