Colt Dragoon revolver. - Lot 31
Colt Dragoon revolver. Six-shot 44-caliber piston revolver with rifled barrel. All parts numbered "36". Top of barrel marked "ADRESS SAM COLT NEW-YORK CITY" on two lines. Nickel-plated frame and finely engraved barrel. Wooden grips. Brass stock engraved "scotch and womens are my life". Missing hammer springs, modified front sight, a few patched screws and accident. Overall length: 35cm. Probably "Mexican" production, produced off-license and less expensive than the originals. Often attributed to highwaymen, a hypothesis that would correspond well to the motto engraved on the stock. Category D weapon. Restored stock. Antique stamped and studded leather case.
