RENOIR Jean (1894-1979) - Lot 58
RENOIR Jean (1894-1979) Covered pot in polychrome enameled earthenware, with pear-shaped handles. Signed under the base Jean Renoir and monogrammed JR. Height: 20 cm. Note: Jean Renoir was one of three sons of the painter Auguste Renoir. He created his ceramics in Alphonse Petit's studio in Montigny sur Loing. In 1925, he opened a gallery in Paris to sell his work. A year later, convinced that customers were buying only for an object "signed Renoir", he gave up to devote himself exclusively to the cinema.
