Superior officer's sword by Cahier et Manceaux. Gilt bronze mounting. Pommel decorated with scrolls, belt of laurel leaves and stylized acanthus leaves. Jointed arch with olive and laurel branches, counterplate in suite. Top decorated with the profile of Minerva on a background of pennants. Horn spindle, watermark missing. Engraved and gilded straight blade. Marked "MANUFACTURE ROYALE DU KLINGENTHAL COULAUX FRERES" and "CAHIER ET MANCEAUX LAFITE DESSINATEUR DU ROI". Total length: 95.5 cm. France, Restoration period.
