Long-tailed oval cap with scallop frieze motif, assembled to the hilt.
Pierced joint arch for the lanyard connecting the openwork plate decorated with a naval anchor.
Slightly curved quillon decorated with a dogfish head.
Spindle in synthetic material (watermark missing).
Slightly curved blade with groove and gutter.
Three-trimmed brass scabbard with navy anchor and scallop shell cap button.
Total length: 84 cm.
France, Second half of the 19th century, early 20th century.
Includes a lanyard and canvas carrying case.
