Icon of Saint Elizabeth. - Lot 214
Icon of Saint Elizabeth. Russia circa 1900. Tempera on wood, with gold background decorated with vegetal interlacing. Inscribed on the reverse: "Work of the Ekaterinburg Convent 1896". The Saint is depicted wearing a veil and a blue mantle. Very fine gilding for the halo and the background, entirely engraved with leafy interlacing, which is also used on the frame. The reverse is marked "Work carried out in the convent of Ekaterinburg in 1896".
