Pair of cassette pistols by Baucheron Pirmet in Paris. Flat-bodied front plates signed "Baucheron Pirmet à Paris". Chased grips and lock plates with case-hardened finishes. Rifled barrels, numbered 1 and 2, in damascus steel, gilded with blunderbusses and thunderbolts. They are marked on the upper side in gold "BAUCHERON PIRMET A PARIS". Checkered walnut crossbars and chased and case-hardened iron fittings. Damage to one hammer and wear to the walnut on the same weapon, leading to a defect in the hooking of the second notch. Overall length: 37.5 cm. France, circa 1840. Category D weapons. Wooden case, burr and brass veneer. Felt-lined interior. Complete with accessories including lock dismantler, loading rods, mallet, oiler, screwdriver, powder flask and primer dispenser. 27/43cm.
