Manuscript with 2 autograph lines, École Militaire Théorique et Pratique, 17 germinal VII (April 6, 1799); 3 1/2 pages in-4. Military school project: "Legion of 2,400 young Frenchmen divided into 8 Battalions of 300 students". Purpose of the school: "This school has three teaching objects: the military art, the arts necessary for the needs of an army, the social art"... This report is divided into the following sections: Purpose of the school; Students for artillery and engineering ("Each year, a few students who have made the most progress [...] will apply to the Polytechnic School"); Orphans and children of the Defenders; Result: "thus this school will provide soldiers who, to the love of Glory, to the habit of subordination and austere discipline, will join a constitution fortified by gymnastics, a continuous practice of military evolutions on foot and on horseback, and the connoissances necessary to their state", etc...
