Apostille signed at the bottom of a petition addressed by the citizens of Bouches-du-Rhône to the Citoyens Représentants députés par la Convention dans ce département, Marseille 27 germinal III (16 avril 1795); 3 fol. pages, ink stamp (slight wetness). The petition, signed by some sixty people (2 pages of signatures), calls for the rehabilitation of the unfortunate Goulard, ex-brigadier of the national gendarmerie in Aubagne, a victim of the Terror, who returns "with certificates of civism and residence, in the prime of life, full of courage and vigor, burning with love for his country, of tall stature and happy face, blessed with all the qualities that seem to herald a terror of the wicked and a friend of the law".
