Guillaume BONNECARRÈRE (1754-1825) diplomat; president of the Jacobins Club, from which he was expelled in 1791 for his relations with the Court, he was director of the political department; imprisoned for his links with Dumouriez and the Orleans family, he was entrusted with various secret missions under the Directoire and Empire. 4 L.A.S., one P.A.S. and one MANUSCRIT with autograph note, 1794-[1814?] * 3 L.A.S., 24 brumaire-16 frimaire III (14 novembre-6 décembre 1794), to Représentant du Peuple HARMAND; 4 pages in-4 and 1 p. in-fol., adr. (one enclosure). "De la maison Desnos rue notre dame des champs", he protests against his "painful detention" and the "flat calumnies", the "absurd system of defamation and tyranny" directed against him... * P.A.S., 27 messidor VII (July 15, 1799; 1 p. in-fol.). Petition in which he presents himself as "one of the faithful veterans of the revolution" and offers his services to the "regenerated Executive Directory" for the position of receiver of the Seine department. * L.A.S., May 27, 1807 (1 p.et demi in-fol., another L.A.S. enclosed), recommending a candidate for a position as justice of the peace. * MANUSCRIT with autograph note; 5 p. and a quarter in-fol.
