COMITÉ DE SALUT PUBLIC. 3 L.S. or P.S., Paris (September-October 1794); 6 pages and a quarter in-fol., vignettes and -heads of the Comité de Salut public. 17 fructidor II (September 3), to the Commission des Transports, remontes, postes et messageries, denying the Commission's agencies the right to choose their clerks, secretaries and attendants: "never abandon the means of surveillance"... Signed: Lazare Carnot, Charles Cochon, Joseph Eschassériaux, Antoine Fourcroy, Pierre-Antoine Laloy, Robert Lindet, Merlin (de Douai), Jacques-Alexis Thuriot and J.B. Treilhard. 19 fructidor (September 5). Order authorizing the Transport Commission to pay citizen Francony the sum of 4,000 livres, "to reimburse him for his advances and compensate him for his trouble and care in executing the suspended carriage model for transporting the wounded, of which he is the inventor"... Decree stipulating that workers "accustomed to working on trains, scrubbing and generally servicing rivers, wherever they may be, shall go without delay to the workshops set up to supply Paris [...] may at least, those of the said workers who made contracts with the District of Auxerre in fructidor for the undertaking of road restoration and maintenance, be replaced in the said work by prisoners of war"...
