Louis-Alexandre DEVÉRITÉ (1743-1818) Conventionnel (Somme). 2 L.A.S., and 6 documents, 1793-1795. 14 frimaire (December 4) 1793, to his son (2 pages and a quarter in-4, defects). Beautiful letter of direction to his eldest son, to whom he entrusts his wife and other children. He has made enemies "defending the liberty of the citizens of my country"... [After Thermidor], to the President of the Convention (1 p. in-fol.). "Five decades have passed since I put my printed complaint before the eyes of the Convention. The assembly has been able to convince itself of the perfect innocence of one of its members, a zealous and ardent friend of republican principles; and yet I still remain in the horrible position of proscription!!!" He wants to return to the Convention in "the happy harmony of hearts and lights necessary to complete together the immortal edifice of liberty"... [October 25, 1793].
