Alexandre BESSON (1758-1826) conventionnel (Doubs) and Louis - Lot 126
Alexandre BESSON (1758-1826) conventionnel (Doubs) and Louis-Antoine ROBIN (1757-1802) conventionnel (Aube). P.S. by both, Rambouillet October 7, 1793; 7 fol. pages, red wax seal. Interesting document concerning the commune of Rambouillet. As "Commissaires de la Convention Nationale pour l'exécution de la Loi du dix juin relative aux biens de la ci-devant liste civile à Rambouillet", the People's Representatives Besson and Robin are convinced that many members of this commune "do not have the energy that is appropriate in the circumstances for magistrates of the people, that their lack of ardor will soon result in the cooling and little by little the depravation of the public spirit in this commune where the fanaticism of royalty seems to have many secret supporters"... Consequently, they dismissed the commune's General Council, as well as the Supervisory Committee, in order to reorganize them. They appoint the new members, 30 names listed here, chosen "from among citizens whose activity, severity and devotion will thwart the deaf and perfidious machinations of the enemies of the Republic"...
