Charles-François Virot, marquis de SOMBREUIL (1727-1794) general, governor of the Invalides, arrested on August 10, escaped the September massacres thanks to the courage of his daughter; re-arrested, he was guillotined. P.S. Paris March 19, 1792; 1 page in-fol. partly printed, Hôtel royal des Invalides letterhead, vignette with royal coat of arms. Death certificate for Jean Maire, "aged seventy-four, native of Langres en Champagne, received at the said Hôtel on April 28, 1773", died January 7, 1791.
