This kneeling orant, arms and face turned towards the sky, embodies the spiritual verticality at the heart of Ndary Lo's approach. Here, the body becomes a vector of elevation, a link between earth and transcendence. These orants are the first representation of a spiritual quest that runs through all his work. Fashioned from reclaimed rebar, this figure bears witness to the artist's particular alchemy: transforming raw industrial material into a medium for meditation. The residue of a building site becomes a reliquary, the refuse metamorphoses into an offering.
