BLAEU, J. & C. Russiae vulgo Moscovia dictae, Partes Septentrionalis. Amsterdam, 1647. Fine contemporary col. Framed (not examined out of frame). A fine copy. 418 x 540 mm The map's cartographer is Isaac Massa (1586-1643), a Dutch cartographer and traveler. The map shows the Murmansk Sea and the west coast of New Zealand to the north, and Lapland to the northwest. Adorned with a title cartouche and a scale cartouche depicting 2 hunters, bears, a deer, etc., and a coat of arms with the Russian coat of arms. Expert: Béatrice Loeb-Larocque
