VILLON (François). Le grand testament et le petit, son codicille et ses ballades. Paris, Jean Porson, 1943, In-8, edition illustrated by Henri Lemarié with 226 colored miniatures by Edmond Vairel. This is the first book illustrated by Lemarié. Limited edition of 775 numbered copies, this one no. 430, one of 650 on Arches pur chiffon vellum. Bound in full red morocco, decorated with straight and curved gilt fillets, spine with 2 broad raised bands underlined by gilt fillets, 5-fillet spine binding, covers and spine preserved, top edge gilt, signed Montereymard. The follow-up volume in half-maroquin with strips of the same leather, in a common lined slipcase. This copy is enriched with a suite before coloring of the 226 compositions and 10 unpublished plates, a suite of the refused plates (14) and one unused plate.
