18K (750) gold chatelaine, featuring a double enameled coat - Lot 20
18K (750) gold chatelaine, featuring a double enameled coat of arms framed by lions, the carved and chased foliage frame surmounted by a pearl-set count's crown, embellished with emeralds and half-pearls, holding a watch on an 18K gold fleurdelys chain, the reverse engraved with a numeral. French work from the second half of the 19th century. Preserved in its case. Height: 16.5 cm approx. Gross weight: 89.6 g (silver spatula)
The wedding coat of arms is that of Marie Julie Claudine Le Breton de Vannoise (1855-1877) married to Guillaume de Nuzèche (1847-?). The seal on the box certainly corresponds to Marie de Nuzèche. We would like to thank Madame Astrid Villette for her kind assistance in identifying the coat of arms.
