Large and original Baktiar Semnan carpet Iran Circa 1975 Dimensions 206 x 167 cm Wool velvet on cotton backing Slight natural oxidation Beautiful polychromy Unusual dimensions (square shape) Decorated with a very large brick-red central medallion forming the main field, adorned with geometrically stylized branches of flowers and foliage in polychrome, inlaid with a second geometric midnight-blue floral medallion in the shape of a stylized diamond. Four original beige spandrels with garlands of stylized flowers. Triple borders, the main one in midnight blue with multicolored floral bulbs.
