PRADIER James (1790-1852) After, Black marble and bronze clock with a golden patina, featuring the poetess Sappho standing on an Ionic column, holding a lyre in her hand. Bronze signed J. PRADIER 1848, hallmark VP crowned "VP" (Victor PAILLARD, fonte de Bronze, Paris). Marble doucine base engraved with fillets and fleurons enhanced with gold, embellished on the sides with two winged sphinxes, standing on six toupee feet and two claw feet. Gilt brass dial with Roman numerals for the hours, signed ANTONY BAILLY. Mechanical movement with key winding, blade suspension. Baseplate marked SFH.JD with star and number 12029. With gong, key and balance wheel. H. 70 - W. 43.5 - D. 25 cm Small chips to the marble and wear to the patina.
