AUSTRIA-HUNGARY Diploma of ennoblement for Major Franz Kraus von Riesenhain († 1862), issued by Emperor Franz Franz Joseph I of Habsburg (1830-1916), dated December 20, 1861 in Vienna. In-folio format, bound in full crimson velvet, the first cover stamped with the double-headed eagle of the the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the interior on vellum comprising 4 printed pages, one of which bears the recipient's of the recipient, signed by the Ministry of State. Wear to binding. With its red wax seal imprinting the arms of Emperor Franz Joseph, in its circular gilded gilt brass, attached by a silver thread cord. D. 11.5 cm.
