Five hand screens, France, circa 1800-1820 A pair of hexagonal cardboard hand screens decorated with velvet-effect flocked flowers and stars, enriched in the center with an engraving. One bears the allegory of Love, with a singer on the reverse; the other an allegory of Science, with a scene of Charity on the reverse. Height 38.5 cm -A pair of hexagonal cardboard hand screens, decorated with horns of plenty, peacock feathers and foliage on a green background, enriched in the center with a circular engraving of lovers. The reverse features a dog and sheep crowned by two doves. H.t. 26 cm (unmounted) -A hexagonal cardboard hand screen with foliage border and circular engraving on both sides of a young woman allegorizing Summer and Spring. Turned wood handle with black varnish. Height 39.5 cm (worn, slightly missing)
