Gustave LEROY & Compagnie (silversmith in Paris, active from 1886 to 1897) Silver tea and coffee set including a teapot, a coffeepot and a covered sugar bowl decorated with pearled medallions "MRP" with laurel branches and ribbons, the spouts and handles enhanced with chased and embossed acanthus leaf motifs. The frétel stylizes a broken acanthus seed. Paris, late 19th century Title: Minerve 1er titre (1838-1973), Goldsmith: L&Cie and a royal crown and stamp J. PIAULT Weight: 2358 gr H. 25 cm, 22.5 cm and 19 cm Very slight scratches In 1884, master goldsmith Gustave Leroy opened his workshop and Jules Piault became a shareholder, hence the name Leroy et Cie. In 1897, the workshop was taken over by Robert Linzeler.
