Terracotta pot with engraved decoration of an epigraphic band on the shoulder, bearing the inscription "al-sultan ibn al-sultan al-sultan al-'azim Saif al-Dounia wal-Din", and a stucco disk decorated with four diamond-shaped coats of arms furnished with a sword around a central rosette on an arabesque background. (Chips on the heel of the pot and on the rim of the disc). Egypt-Mamluk Syria, 14th century Height of pot: 18 cm; Diameter of disc: 16 cm A Mamluk unglazed ceramic gourd decorated with Frankish swords similar to those on the disc is preserved in the Damascus Museum (inv. no.
