"Album du Musée de Boulacq photographié par M.M DÉFILÉ et BECHARD rédigé par Auguste MARIETTE-BEY - Le Caire Mourès & Cie Imprimeurs-Éditeur, 1872" Incomplete album of 21 photographic plates by Monsieur Emile Béchard and Hippolyte Défilé, divided into different themes: "Pittoresque views", "Pantheon", "Funerary monuments", "Civil monuments", "Historical monuments", "Greek and Roman monuments". Each photograph is accompanied by an explanatory text written by Monsieur Auguste Mariette-Bey, 1872 Album in-folio of 21 plates, charcoal prints 18 x 24 cm (50 x 36 cm) "The Délié et Béchard workshop won a medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1878. French Egyptologist Auguste Mariette (1821- 1881), director of the Egyptian Antiquities Service from 1858 onwards, was the founder of the Boulaq Museum, the first Egyptian museum opened to the public in Cairo in 1863, in Mariette's own home. Antoine Mourès (1827-1887) went on to print the first book in hieroglyphics, later transforming his printing works into the Imprimerie Nationale d'Égypte".
