In-8, blond calf, gilt border, smooth ornate spine, compartments decorated with mille points, red title page, inner border, blue moire lining and endpapers, gilt edges (period binding).
This text, originally published separately in 1814, served as an introduction to the various editions of the Théorie analytique des probabilités, one of the fundamental texts by Laplace (1749-1827).
Small stain on the first cover and small epidermis at the bottom, otherwise a fine copy in blond calf.
