Rare collection of 22 books and plates from the years 1856-1858 concerning the Icarian society of the United States. The collection opens with The Icarian Colony in the United States of America. Sa constitution, ses lois, sa situation matérielle et morale après le premier semestre 1855 (Paris, chez l'Auteur, January 1856), an anonymous 240-page work published in the year of the death of Étienne Cabet, the founder of the utopian Icarian society. The other texts are more or less short, and several are signed J.-P.
