Illustrated with 4 engraved titles, 4 frontispieces and 200 medallion portraits after drawings by the author, accompanied by a short biographical note describing the circumstances of the death, mostly by decapitation or assassination. A pleasant copy in a romantic binding, without the 19 costume plates or the plate of assignats.
