Jean BERTHOLLE (1909-1996) for the Manufacture of GIEN Important part of table service model "RAMBOUILLET" including 78 pieces in earthenware with polychrome decoration of hunting scenes on hatched bottom. It is composed of: - 20 large plates (2 plates with chips, 2 plates with cooking defects) - 13 dessert plates (2 plates with chips) - 6 soup plates - 12 cups and their saucers - 2 deep dishes - 2 round dishes - 1 oval dish - 1 salad bowl - 1 vegetable dish - 1 tureen - 1 gravy boat (tiny chips at the bottom) - 1 cheese board - 1 coffee pot - 1 milk jug - 1 cream jug - 1 sugar bowl - 1 trivet - 1 ashtray This service was designed by Jean Bertholle in 1955 at the request of the President of the Republic René Coty to equip the prestigious residences which sheltered the presidential hunts.
