"The College de France is the most famous and useful establishment in the universe for public instruction. We are going to start again our courses; but if we do not have wood we will not have listeners ". He asks to be granted 3 cords of wood, and the cars to transport him... Attached is a P.S. by 6 professors at the Collège de France, 1st pluviôse IV (January 21, 1796; half page in-4). "We, the undersigned professors at the Collège de France, in order to conform to the law, declare that we are all sincerely attached to the Republic and that we have an eternal hatred for royalty...
