Guillaume BONNECARRÈRE (1754-1825) diplomat; president of the Jacobin club from which he was expelled in 1791 because of his relations with the Court, he was director of the political department; imprisoned because of his connections with Dumouriez and the Orleans family, he was entrusted with various secret missions under the Directory and the Empire. 4 L.A.S., one P.A.S. and one MANUSCRIT with autograph note, 1794-[1814?] * 3 L.A.S., 24 brumaire-16 frimaire III (14 novembre-6 décembre 1794), to the Representative of the People HARMAND; 4 pages in-4 and 1 p. in-fol., adr. (one piece attached). "From the Desnos house in rue Notre Dame des Champs", he protests against his "painful detention" and the "flat calumnies", the "absurd system of defamation and tyranny" directed against him... * P.A.S., 27 messidor VII (July 15, 1799; 1 p. in-fol.). Petition in which he presents himself as "one of the faithful veterans of the revolution" and offers his services to the "regenerated Executive Directory" for the position of receiver of the department of the Seine. * L.A.S., May 27, 1807 (1 1/2 p. in-fol., another L.A.S. attached), recommending a candidate for a position of justice of the peace.$ * MANUSCRIT with autograph note; 5 p. and a quarter in-fol. Biographical note written certainly in 1814, where he presents himself as a staunch defender of Royalty. Former Patrice Hennessy collection (his stamp on 4 letters).
