Kashgai (Persia) gallery carpet, late 19th century, early 20th century Dimensions : 280 x 110cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on cotton foundation. An oblong octagonal serrated and crocheted field, with changing shades of purple, cherry and brick covered with a sowing of plants and small floral lozenges supports four serrated lozenge medallions, emerald, apricot, anthracite and ivory decorated with multi-colored floral composition cruciform. Four rich anthracite spandrels with polychrome vegetation frame the whole. Two counter borders highlighted with hourglasses enclose the main border anthracite garlands stylized. Beautiful palette.
