SAMARCANDE carpet (Central Asia), late 19th century Dimensions : 390 x 200cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation. On a bright blue field, stand out important flowered stems, with exuberant flowers, color "fire". Two counter borders, one floral and the other geometric frame the main blue border decorated with polychrome "pomegranate trees" (symbol of eternal life)
